Before you begin, make sure you are in a private location. Your private key gives complete control over your funds — anyone who has it can access your wallet. Treat it with the same care you would give to a physical passphrase or PIN.

  1. 1
Open Atpay and go to wallet settings
Navigate to Settings → Wallet → Export Private Key. You will be prompted for biometric confirmation (Face ID or fingerprint) before the key is revealed.
  2. 2
Copy or write down your private key
Your private key will be displayed as a hex string or seed phrase. Store it somewhere secure — a hardware wallet, an encrypted password manager, or written down in a physically safe location. Do not screenshot it, copy it into a messaging app, or send it anywhere electronically.
  3. 3
    Import into any compatible wallet
Your wallet can be imported into any EVM-compatible self-custody wallet — Phantom, MetaMask, Rainbow, or any other that supports private key import. Your funds will be immediately accessible in the new app.
  4. 4
Optionally unlink from your atproto DID
If you no longer want your wallet address discoverable via your atproto handle, you can delete the wallet record from your atproto repo in Settings → Wallet → Unlink from DID. This only removes discoverability — it has no effect on your funds or keys.

Keep your private key safe

If you lose your private key and cannot recover from your encrypted backup, your funds may be permanently inaccessible. Atmosphere Money cannot recover lost keys on your behalf. Never share your private key electronically, and never share it with anyone claiming to represent Atmosphere Money — we will never ask for it.
